Batman Over the Years

Batman Over the Years

The new Batman movie has officially been released in theaters. There have been multiple actors who played Batman over the years including people from live-action TV series, movies, animated series, and video games from Adam West to the now infamous Robert Pattinson. Here are my ratings for the best Batman adaptations.

The world of TV has had an interesting era for comic books. From the animated X-Men series to the Batman TV show with Adam West playing Batman,  more colorful tunes, and an interesting dance. He was a good Batman for some and a delight for children when the series came out. Then in 2014, there was a series on Fox simply called Gotham which told the origin story of Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, played by David Mazouz who did a wonderful job of playing the character throughout the entire series. Finally, who can forget my personal favorite, the man of the hour: Kevin Conroy. He made his initial debut in Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, which then inspired Batman: The Animated Series where Mark Hamill also made his debut as the Joker. A fantastic duo for a fantastic series that has inspired a whole bunch of movies that have been released.

Movies-wise, there have been many iterations since the start of the 1900s. First off, there is George Clooney, who played Batman in Batman & Robin, which, in my opinion, was not a very good movie at all. He was a very good Bruce Wayne, but other than that he is very low on the list. After that, The Dark Knight trilogy began with Batman Begins, which introduced the world to Christian Bale’s Batman. Honestly, this and The Batman movie that recently came out introducing the world to Robert Pattinson’s Batman are the best adaptations of Batman I have ever seen. Out of these two actors, I can’t decide which plays a better Batman. There are debates about the two Batmen since they both have played the role so well in such fantastic movies.

There will be debates regarding these two magnificent actors playing Batman for years to come. I have seen The Dark Knight trilogy many times, and I would like to see The Batman movie many times as well for the fantastic job Robert Pattinson did playing Batman, on top of the excellent job of the entire cast in the film as well. Matt Reeves did indeed bring Batman back into the theaters. It was so exciting to see him play the Caped Crusader. It was a phenomenal movie overall, with the best cast of all time for that film. The Dark Knight was released in theaters a couple of years ago, and it was also a phenomenal film with great casting, especially with Heath Ledger playing the Joker, who was even nominated for an Oscar for his performance in that movie. Between Robert Pattinson and Christian Bale, I might have to give the “Best Batman Award” to Robert Pattinson because the movie as a whole was wonderful, and his performance as Bruce Wayne/Batman very early in his career felt perfect. As for Christian Bale, he did a wonderful job as well playing Bruce Wayne/Batman who shows throughout the entire trilogy that he too was born to play this character.
