What Makes a Movie Good?
Movies are changing the way we read comics, video games and all forms of media. In a similar way, comics inspire the way that movies are made, and they can either be a global success, mediocre or a disaster. Some movies seem to go through a thorough planning process while other movies are made off the top of someone’s head.
What types of movies have some of the best ideas and became successful? In my opinion, movies like Deadpool, Avengers, Justice League, and many others with memorable action sequences. Also, having an emotional aspect into the film that makes it stand out as being a masterpiece. I really wonder what comes into these people’s minds when they make a movie. It seems like a wonderful time making up ideas for a movie. The question now becomes, what makes a movie good?
The first thing that makes a movie good is memorable scenes. For example, Cyborg in the Snyder Cut, played by Ray Fisher, portrayed the character perfectly in an extreme emotional charge when he was describing his origin story.. Then, later in the movie, his father died and so did his emotional attachment to him. After all that, he became a member of the Justice League and became a key member of the team. This is a perfect example of a memorable scene that left viewers on the edge of their seats. A movie without memorable scenes is like a birthday party with no presents. If the viewers do not remember anything from the movie, then what was the point?
Another thing that makes a movie good is interesting characters. It is extremely important that the character can appeal to a wide array of audiences. An example of this is Joker. It isn’t about the Joker himself, but why he is on the verge of driving into madness. The Joker is a crazy person, and this is made well aware in the movie. However, the movie helps us understand why he is this crazy figure. In this example, the Joker can appeal to a wide variety of audiences due to his unique background.
All in all, movies need to have memorable scenes and interesting characters. Without those key aspects, the movie may come off as a bit bland and unmemorable. Most can remember a movie that had a scene that left them speechless. Additionally, most people have a character from a movie that they had a genuine interest in. In my opinion, both of these things make a movie good. However, at the end of the day, it really depends on the viewer. Every single viewer is looking for different things when they watch movies. Not everybody is going to watch movies for character development. Similarly, not everybody will watch movies to analyze all of the scenes. So, I challenge you to list some things that you believe make a movie good, as it is different depending on the person.
